First things first, I have just been into separate internet things once more as I had been when I typed up my 10th Anniversary, and I am just continuing fresh from here now. So yeah, I largely apologize for all of that as well, but, I truly will get going on a weekly post each Saturday through Wednesday now, so Hakuna Matata. Anyway, remember that “Lake or Marsh” post I typed up nearly two years ago? Well, unfortunately, the lakes now have only PARTIALLY returned to how they initially were. Just how that is so? Well, I would be indeed […]
10th Anniversary Post
Yes, this post’s title is accurate, my website first launched and had its first ever post (a tiny, introductory one) published exactly one decade ago today! Now, I believe just at least ONE of you would like a tale on how my website was all formed. And I believe this post is exactly the correct one to consider that on… At some point in the early 2010s, as I had been liking other children’s websites earlier, my dad actually suggested giving me a website of my own. He considered posting games and other stuff like that on it. Although the […]
A Whole New Home…For Water Storage
I apologize if I have not been filling my blog recently, it is just I have been into other things on the internet again. Although yeah, this post will consider a major change for the community which I reside in… Now, we have ALL seen the water tower in our own communities, and ones in other communities as well. The main, more modern one in MY community in Whitewater Is located just down across the road from my old babysitter Chu’s first house, and is light blue and has a of the Whitewater train depot on it. Though, there is […]
Depot Park Amphitheater
First of all, today is the 70th anniversary of the final Milwaukee Road passenger train stop in Whitewater. Coincidentally, this post will also consider a particular spot which has been constructed near there not the long ago… If you have ever come across an open-air venue that is used for performances, entertainment, or sports, then you have come across an amphitheater. You might have seen an amphitheater like the one shown below, at least in a photograph on the internet or in a book… Well, THOSE types of Amphitheater were constructed by ancient Romans. They are oval-shaped and have seating […]
Citgo to Casey’s
You remember how two posts ago, I considered how business are able to go through name and owner change? Well, I will consider just another situation like that in THIS post as well… Until just a couple years ago, there were two Citgo fuel stations in my community (similar to the future two Kwik Trips). One was located on Main street, just across the road from Wal-Mart. The other was also on Main street, but on the inverse side of town, not far at all from the elementary school which I attended. The convenience stores and fuel were both fine. […]
Dollar Post
Of course, a type of business can exit a community as one store, but it is not impossible it to return is another, depending on how the conditions for it are then. And yes, I will consider that for this post, with an example, like with my previous one. Remember that Dollar Tree store I considered years ago that got replaced with an anytime fitness? Well, a similar department will be opening to the left of the first Whitewater Kwik Trip. Only that will not be another Dollar Tree or a Family Dollar, but a Dollar General. I went into […]
Motor or Sooner
There is such thing as business having their owners replaced, as well as somethings having their names changed in the process. Well I am aware of an example in my community, plus I will share that with you in this post. Zingg Motors in Whitewater, Wisconsin was first founded in 1990. Eventually, it received two locations in the community, both of which were on either side of the current True Value location. The Zingg Motors on the left of True Value sold automobiles from Pontiac, Buick, as well as GMC. While the one one the right of it sold Chrysler, […]
True Arby’s
First of all, happy Halloween 2021! Walmart may have some hardware in store, but Whitewater’s primary store for hardware is a Winchester True Value. It has actually been serving Whitewater for just over a century and a half (151 years to be specific), although it did not move to its current location until 1995. By late 2018, there were plans to construct Whitewater its own Arby’s, within True Value’s parking lot, on the left. And yes, the Arby’s was constructed prior to opening in March 2020. While I am aware that businesses like this (particularly restaurants) can be in parking […]
Eat at Jessica’s
Recall in an earlier post where I considered the Wall Crawlers rock climbing gym being replaced with an expanded portion of Jessica’s restaurants? Well in this one, I believe it is about time I consider more about Jessica’s in THIS one… First of all, the building was first constructed in 1873. It was also at least one previous restaurant prior to finally opening as Jessica’s in 1991. It is actually one of those restaurants that has a vintage large “EAT” lighted sign on its exterior. Now, Jessica’s is your traditional classic family restaurant, serving breakfast meals containing things such as […]
Verlo: Mattress Factory Post
Suppose you have received a product of outside of your community, or a store of its might have relocated to a different one. Verlo Mattress Factory Stores would be the example I am best familiar with. Verlo was first founded in 1958 in McHenry, Illinois, as was its partner company VyMaC Corporation, although its headquarters did not move to Whitewater until 1971, located at W3130 State Highway 59 in a series of buildings. Verlo also operates stores within Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Georgia, and Colorado, as well as formerly in Indiana, Minnesota, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arizona, Ohio, plus Texas. Verlo […]
